| Our Local Rotary Clubs in both Empangeni and Richards Bay supported us yet again with Medical Equipment donation (which is used free of charge by our patients and we hire it out to the public) –as well as some Power Pap donation for our patients – which is a great help as times are tough.

PPE’s and sanitizer -for our staff were donated by various companies as well as HPCA which we are very grateful for, and gave our staff a safe option to visit and care for the patients.

We had some youngsters from Trelique Models who raised funds and made donations to Zululand Hospice – Guiliana Wright donated Morvite Peanut butter and clothes, and Sarah Westbrook that did fundraising for us – Sarah baked Rice treats and sold it to the value of R1500.00, incredible!

The Peanut butter, Morvite, and Nappies Drive for our patients continue – if you are able to help us with this please come drop off at either Empangeni or Richards Bay house.

Charity Shop – this is our only continuous income and with all Covid -19 precautions in place your donations are welcome – come visit us for a bargain or two. We had some Hotel groups donating linen which we are extremely grateful for, our Library is stocked with books for everyone’s delight.

Tree of lights – This year had to be a virtual event and the Live stream on Facebook where Neena Bezuidenhout our Hospice Ambassador was seen promoting the remembrance candle and was viewed by 409 friends. You can view the replay of the Live event here.
New Normal – that is what we hear – mask up, social distancing, stay home, don’t visit friends and family and restrict gatherings — what is so normal about it – NOTHING. We don’t like this – we rebel -but then we see friends and family get sick and some don’t survive – we get quiet we do introspection and we find New Normal means – reach out, be kind, care for one another as every day is special and nothing is more important than living in the NOW.
So, let’s do it NOW – if you have always wanted to reach out or to give or support a charity then NOW is the time. |
